Honors Review 2019
LAYOUT & PUBLICATION DESIGN & ILLUSTRATION
For the second year in a row, I was asked to layout and design the Augsburg Honors Review academic journal. The goal for this year was to ditch the academic, stuffy visual language that has been historically used in the layout of the book. I took this direction and ran with it. I read the content and determined that all of the different authors were interested in humans and the abstract — yes, these are vague ideas but, hey, I really tried to find something to tie all of these articles on various topics together. With humans and the concept of abstraction in mind, I designed the cover of the book. The warm color palette was chosen as it directly conflicts with the aforementioned stuffy design choices used in previous years.
